Copenhagen – Inspiration

Copenhagen by Bike

The Danes are bike loving people and all around Copenhagen there are bike lanes. Explore the city with a bike tour, a sustainable way to experience the city and the Copenhagen lifestyle. You can combine your bike tour with a visit to the Little Mermaid or go for a drink at Nyhavn. Even better, just keep it simple, like the Danes like to do; take a stoll with your guide and just feel the relaxed, cosy and “hygge” vibe and atmosphere in Copenhagen.

Architecture & Monarchy

Copenhagen is a cozy city with a very green vibe all around. The city’s architecture is an interesting mix of charming houses at the old port of Nyhavn modern buildings like the Black Diamond – the Royal Danish Library on Slotsholmen. The old Red Light District is transformed into a fancy food market and residential apartments. And in the heart of Copenhagen, there is the Royal Amalienborg Palace where the royal family lives. A must see when visiting Copenhagen.

Tivoli Gardens

In the heart of Copenhagen, you will find the famous Tivoli Gardens. Founded in 1843, it’s one of the oldest amusement parks in Europe. A truly amazing venue, The Tivoli Gardens are unique and beautiful with nice restaurants, historic buildings, lovely gardens, and fun activities. At night, thousands of colored lights create a fairytale atmosphere with peacocks running freely through the gardens.

Beer Walk

Visiting Copenhagen should include some serious tasting of the Danish famous beers – like Tuborg or Carlsberg – or even better the trendy local brands like Mikkeller. Experience Copenhagen’s city center and highlights on foot and enjoy some beer tasting on the way. It’s a fun and relaxed way of sightseeing that will take you on a stroll in the city center. You will enjoy a beer in front of the Danish Parlement or some secret museum garden. Cheers or as we say in Danish: Skål!

Copenhagen Canal Tour

Experience Copenhagen from the water. Enjoy a classic tour on the canals departing from the old port of “Nyhavn”. Passing the house where the famous author Hans Christian Andersen lived and of course the Little Mermaid. It’s also possible to take an electric boat or a kayak trip and help pick plastic out of the water. Either way, it’s nice to experience Copenhagen from the water!

Local gastronomy

New Nordic cuisine is rather trendy over the past years and there are many nice restaurants in Copenhagen. There are many options for high end gastronomy and also the more eat-like-the-locals experience with the classic smørrebrød with a beer. That is the main lunch menu and a must-do experience. For dinner, we would recommend some of the local restaurants with Danish classic dishes – less fancy – but that is what the Danes eat. During the morning time, you would need to taste the famous Danish pastry like a “Snegl” and a coffee. Smørrebrød, beer, and pastry that is the keystone ingredient in most of the Danes and we love it.
